General description
GMF-β a brain-specific protein that belongs to the actin-binding proteins (ADF) structural family. GMF-b appears to play a role in the differentiation, maintenance, and regeneration of the nervous system. It also supports the progression of certain auto-immune diseases, possibly through its ability to induce the production and secretion of various pro-inflammatory cytokines. Recombinant human GMF-b is a 16.5 kDa globular protein containing 141 amino acid residues including one intramolecular disulfide bond.
Physical form
Lyophilized from 15mM Sodium Phosphate, pH 7.5.
Reconstitution
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.
