An oxidant in the synthesis of amides by oxidative amidation of aldehydes with amines.A catalyst to synthesize di and trioxidized bicyclic cyclopentenones by reacting with Pauson-Khand reaction (PKR) products. A catalyst along with iodine (I₂) to prepare mono and bis-sulfenylindoles by treating indoles with diaryl disulfides via C-H sulfenylation.A catalyst to synthesize alkyl and aryl nitriles from the corresponding aldehydes via the formation of aldoxime. A selenium precursor to synthesize FeSe nanostructures via electrochemical deposition method.It can also be used as a versatile reagent for allylic oxidation and oxidative-elimination reactions.
