Biochem/physiol Actions

4-Methylumbelliferyl ǥ-D-glucopyranoside serves as a fluorogenic substrate for the ǥ-glucosidase enzyme. The product, 4-methylumbelliferyl, shows a peak at 440nm in the fluorescence spectra.
