Plants are propagated by tissue culture for a number of reasons. Among them are preservation of rare and endangered species, multiplication of a particular bioengineered transformant, or cloning of a naturally occurring mutated specimen. Microbial contamination of scarce plant material can prove disastrous. We offer a variety of media (with and without agar) for pathogen screening to diagnose, treat, or prevent future contamination. Some, such as potato dextrose agar or nutrient agar or broth, will support growth of bacterial, fungi, yeast, and molds. Others, such as malt extract agar or cornmeal agar are used to isolate and detect yeast and mold. Still others, such as Luria base or broth, support the growth of certain types of bacteria. As well as well as this we offer classic microbial growth media, including LB (luria or lysogeny broth), Terrific Broth, and others, are available in a variety of formats and volume sizes to suit your research needs. These products have been in use for decades, growing E. coli and other microbes for molecular biology, protein expression, and other research uses.
