Application
Potassium borohydride (KBH4) can be used as a reducing agent for the synthesis of: Copper nanoparticles by the reduction of copper salts.Enantioselective allylic alcohols by the catalytic reduction of enones and ketones in the presence of chiral N,N′-dioxidescandium(III) complex catalyst.,· Azoxybenzenes by the reduction of nitroarenes in the presence of phase transfer catalyst PEG-400.It can also be employed as a boron source in the nickel–boron alloy, which is electrodeposited on carbon fiber to improve catalytic graphitization of carbon.
