Application
Tween 20 is used for: solubilizing membrane proteins during isolation of membrane-protein complexes. a subsequent protein detection by UV light absorption, due to its low UV absorbance. ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) and immunoblots.
General description
Tween 20, also referred to as poly(oxyethylene)n-sorbitan-monolaurate, is a non-ionic surfactant. It is mainly used in membrane research.
