The EasyElute™ LVC Kit concentrates microorganisms and particles using robust filtration with a high-flow ultrafilter followed by instant sample recovery using our patented Wet Foam Elution to recover microorganisms into a small final volume (~70mL). This one-pass method improves your limit of detection exponentially - especially important for detection of trace pathogens.

The LVC kit contains: A 30 kD ultrafilter (2.5m2 surface area), tubing and fittings, and an EasyElute™ Buffer canister (choose either PBS or Tris).

Using your own vacuum pump, the fluid sample is pulled through the filter in a dead-end configuration. The particles are trapped as the fluid is carried away to waste. To recover the captured particles from the filter, manually press the EasyElute™ buffer canister into a fitting on the filter. The buffer will dispense with through the filter - expanding 6x into a viscous foam that lifts the trapped particles. Within seconds, the concentrated microorganisims are eluted from the filter ready for downstream culture, molecular, or sequencing analysis methods.

A second stage concentration can be easily performed with the Concentrating Pipette to reduce the sample to microliter volumes in minutes.
