Application
ADP-ribosylcyclase is a Ca2+ signaling second messenger. It may be used to study calcium signaling and has been used to research morphine antinociception and tolerance .
Biochem/physiol Actions
ADP-ribosylcyclase is an intracellular calcium regulator that cyclizes NAD into cADPR. It is thought that the majority of ADP-ribosylcyclase activity in the brain is linked to CD38. Nicotinamide is a known inhibitor of CD38 ADP-ribosylcyclase activity .
Physical form
Lyophilized powder containing trehalose, potassium phosphate and dithiothreitol
Unit Definition
One unit will produce 1 µmole of cyclic ADP ribose from β-NAD+ in 5 minutes at pH 7.0 and 25°C.
