Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent stromal cells that can differentiate into a variety of cell types including osteoblasts (bone), chondrocytes (cartilage), adipocytes (fat), myocytes (muscle), and neurons (nerve). Because mesenchymal stem cells are undifferentiated cells, they are able to self-renew and have a high proliferative capacity. These MSCs are cultured from freshly collected adult human bone marrow.
