Glucuronic acid is a carboxylic acid which in involved in the process of glucuronidation, where glucuronic acid is linked to a molecule to allow for more efficient transport due its highly water-soluble nature. Most often it is used to rid the body of toxins or to aid in the delivery of drugs or hormones.
