Benserazide has been used:to inhibit dopa-decarboxylaseto induce dyskinesiato test on purified bacterial TDCs to assess the extent to which it could affect bacterial decarboxylasesas a peripheral dopa decarboxylase inhibitor to treat mice

Biochem/physiol Actions

Benserazide can block HK2 enzymatic activity in vitro. It is used along with levodopa to treat Parkinson′s disease.

Inhibitor of L-aromatic amino acid decarboxylase.
