IgG purification

Protein G Sepharose 4 Fast Flow is a good first choice for general-purpose capture of antibodies at laboratory scale. Compared to protein A-based resins, it binds a broader range of immunoglobulins from eukaryotic species and more classes of IgG.

  • isolation of antibody-ligand immune complexes
  • immunoprecipitation protocols

The recombinant protein G ligand binds strongly to the Fc-region from a variety of mammalian species. In addition, many antibodies also interact via the Fab region with a low affinity site on protein G. The ligand is immobilized via a multipoint coupling to the Sepharose 4 Fast Flow agarose matrix to minimize ligand leakage.
