Lonza - Discontinuation of classical cell culture media products in Europe and Africa

During the past years more and more customer increased their consumption of high value cell type dedicated cell culture media for research use provided by Lonza under the Clonetics or Poietics brand. In addition, Lonza could see a trend to serum free chemically defined media for manufacturing purposes.

At the same time, usage of so-called “classical media and buffers” under the BioWhittaker brand declined steadily causing production of small batch sizes and discards for many of these products. As result of these trends, Lonza has decided to discontinue a broad range of “classical Media and buffers” labelled “For Research Use Only” (RUO). Several, but not all of these media will be available labelled “For Further Manufacturing” (FFM). In addition, they are offering custom manufacturing of media for formulations required by customers.

Here are details of our opening times over Christmas:  

December 24th – 6:00am – 2:00pm

December 27th Closed

December 28th Closed

December 29th 10:00am – 3:00pm

December 30th 10:00am – 3:00pm

December 31st 10:00am – 2:00pm

January 4th Business as usual  

Last orders going out will stop at 3pm on the 23rd for pre-Christmas delivery.

Cold storage items cut off will be 3pm on the 22nd to avoid thawing or mis-delivery errors.

We will send any urgent orders on 29th,30th,31st.

1pm cut off on the shorter days applies and no vans will be going out on these dates.

We are open to accept any deliveries in between the times stated above.

Comic Relief - Red Nose Day 2021 Walking Challenge

Did you know, SLS have an office in Nairobi?

In support of Comic Relief - Red Nose Day 2021, we are aiming to walk the equivalent distance from Nottingham to Nairobi!  

As a team we will be submitting our steps weekly to achieve our goal.

The distance from our Nottingham office to the office in Nairobi is 6490 miles, which is the equivalent of around 14,564,209 steps.
